Steve Bennett is a man with a unique history; a former Royal Marine Commando and veteran of the Falkland Islands conflict, he is no stranger to adversity and is a prime example of what it means to overcome. As a military soldier, he was ingrained with a passion for the outdoors and still to this day promotes the outdoor lifestyle with his family and those that come to stay in his beautiful log cabins.
Aquone Cabins have been built by the owners Steve and Maggie. They came to North Carolina twenty years ago bought five acres of land, and over that time we have built four log cabins. Steve built every one by hand and in true native military fashion and outdoor expert, he lived in a tent in the wilderness as he brought his cabins to life. He is what the outdoors are all about and each cabin is built with love and dedication - the same dedication that got him through one of the worst conflicts in British history.
He makes his living through his cabins and is delighted that his business is family owned and ran. He is a gracious host and is overjoyed to see families, business executives, veterans and people from all maker of life coming to enjoy what North Carolina offers in terms of adventure and outdoor living with peace and tranquil settings to calm a troubled soul.
Whatever the number of guests, we have a cabin for you. We are located in the heart of the beautiful Nantahala Forest close to Nantahala Lake. Our one, two, three and five bedroom log cabins are the perfect place to relax and unwind or spend your time having fun whitewater rafting, zip lining, hiking, fishing or hire a pontoon boat or canoe for a trip on the lake.

I booked this cabin for my Mom as a birthday get away surprise.It was better than pictured and the perfect weekend trip I could have asked fo. The cabin was located in the perfect central area to neighboring towns and beautiful mountain views. It was clean and cozy and included everything that was advertised. I will say this cabin is intended for 2 people max as it is tight space perfect for solor or couple retreat. Mrs Annie was kind, welcoming, and very informative. I will definitely book with Mrs Annie at Aquone Cabins again in the future. Truly a delight...my mom said it was one her most memorable birthday experiences!!
